Latest sundae: Your Everyday Happycore

The old logo...

ㅤㅤ...was lame design-wise (for example, you can barely tell it is a cup of sundae when it is smaller), so we are making a new one. Plus, we think it is the time for some renovations. Is this good enough for you?

4914553_152679771173_1.png

ㅤㅤIt is a lot more convenient to use in the arts since its bounding box is in an exact 2:3 ratio and the center pivot is at the center of the cup now.

4914553_152679772343_1.png

ㅤㅤWe make a new text logo as well, but it looks 99.5% like the old one. Then why bother remaking it? Because we are planning to change the default font we use on visualizer and arts to Tex Gyre Adventor from Century Gothic. The new text icon is based on that font. The two fonts look pretty much the same, but the former has a larger set of characters.

ㅤㅤWe also added a neat hidden gimmick inside this icon (hope it is easy enough to find, though). Just putting in some symbols, as we did with the old icon, does not do justice for us.

Noisysundae Visualizer 3.0 + the new default art theme

ㅤㅤHere are the key features of the new default visualizer.

ㅤㅤ• Randomly plays one of three visualizer styles. (This means making 3 different visualizers packed in one!)
ㅤㅤ• Extend the silent start (sundae info part) to 10 seconds
ㅤㅤ• Add some messages like tips or seizure warning (apart from audio volume warning) in the silent start
ㅤㅤ• Key signature/BPM change popup during the play

ㅤㅤIf you have an idea to add, feel free to tell us in a comment. For the theme, we intend to make some sample pictures of what we have in mind (something like this) and post them here later.

Latest sundae: Reincarnation

ㅤㅤOn January 1st, 2014, Noisysundae was officially opened. Because of that, every new year is also our annversary. This year is our fourth one! We thank all the customers who paid us a visit and had a taste of our sundae.

ㅤㅤ"I used to make all these only for myself, but since I founded Noisysundae, over the years, more and more people spent even the tiniest fraction of their lifetime having some of the things we made. Now that there are people who actually cared for Noisysundae, I realized that I'm not alone even if I'm actually alone behind the screen. Thank you. You all motivates us to keep pushing!" — The Founder

The 4thniversary wallpaper comes in 3 versions: dawn, dusk, and night. View all of them in the Art Portal  (download link in the art description)4914553_151516803573_Preview.png

First things first. Where have you been? What took you so long to post an update?

ㅤㅤWell, our founder had food poisoning right after the first day of the year ends so... Now he is alright.

In the making of 4thniversary wallpaper

4914553_151516835682_3D.pngㅤㅤWe started with making a scene in Blender. We created a tree using the default Sapling add-on. With the generated tree, we found the view we imagined in our head, but it is impossible with the camera view parallel to the ground, so we tilted it a bit. After that, we modeled the chrysalis from a cube and attached it to the tree branch. We made sure that it will be positioned on the bottom right intersection in the rule of thirds.

ㅤㅤThe sky was not made right in the scene because we did the whole wallpaper within the new year's eve (and the visualizer video had finished rendering in the late morning).

ㅤㅤ"Well, that chrysalis is defying the gravity, anyway." — The Founder

4914553_151517009641_Render.pngㅤㅤThis is the rendered image which is used in the wallpaper. We thought it would look too bland and dull if we do not stylize the rendered image a bit. Later, we came up with the idea of making the whole thing look like a painting.

ㅤㅤNow, to Photoshop. For the sky, we started with a white-green-cyan radial gradient background. To add some shadings to it, we smeared some black brush strokes on a layer, added motion blur, and warped it a bit to align with the perspective. And we added a subtle glow on the chrysalis to make it stand out more.

4914553_151517197942_Text.pngㅤㅤNext, the text. The picture to the right is the modified text. The "A" was actually made of the letter "A", "4", and "t". Yes, the gap on top is not necessary, but the "4th" in the "An" was not obvious enough without it. Additionally, we masked out the left side a bit. Without the mask, like this one here, you will just read it as Anniversary, right? (Or Ahniversary!?)

ㅤㅤThe last thing we did is filtering the entire image with the paintbrush filter (Filter > Filter Gallery > Angled Strokes). We merged all the layers before doing this. Applying the filter to each layer yields the different result.

ㅤㅤOriginally, we would just call it the 4th anniversary, but the 4thniversary came into our mind the moment we saw the final product.

ㅤㅤThat was how we made the 4thniversary wallpaper. This is the first time we explained the process in full, and It is pretty much our production in a nutshell. The visualizers' workflow is more or less like this, with some animations and codings. We could have just released Reincarnation without the wallpaper, but we did it all by our passion. :)

@ItadashiKeiichi

ㅤㅤ"This guy made this to congratulate me a week ago and I didn't even know. How careless was I? He still has a long way to go in music production, but why don't you follow him and see what he'll become?" — The Founder

January...

ㅤㅤ...is our founder's birth month. An upcoming sundae will be released on 27th! The Robot Day is on 23rd so we are doomed to miss it unless we make 3 sundaes in a row or ditch one to two of them. Oh god, why?

ㅤㅤEdit: We didn't make it in time, sorry. Anyway, we have something to show you when the new sundae arrives. ;)

Latest sundae: A new beginning

???

ㅤㅤWell,  ̶N̶o̶i̶s̶y̶s̶u̶n̶d̶a̶e̶  Noisysanta is arriving late by one week, but we got a message from him.

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ"See you on Jan 1st! I have a present for everyone but it'll be late. Here's a preview."
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ— Noisysanta

By the way, Merry Christmas, people.

Latest sundae: A new beginning

The wallpaper is made of a pointless essay our founder wrote himself. The full wall of text is in the art portal. Click it!

Upcoming sundae

ㅤㅤWe are not sure if we are going to place it as the last sundae of 2017 or the first one of 2018, but it will be done before this year ends, that's for sure.

Latest sundae: Heart of the mountain
(The small embedded player was gone with the old audio player. Pasting the link is the best we can do now.)

And that snowstorm landscape below comes with the sundae. view it at the art portal

Talk about this wallpaper

ㅤㅤ"I originally didn't intend to make another snow themed art, but the snowstorm effect I was experimenting just suits too well with the icebergs for me. :P

ㅤㅤHere's the rendered image from Blender. Was going to make a rock mountain landscape with some fake sunbeams for epicness, but nevermind."

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ— The Founder

Animated wallpapers

ㅤㅤStarting with this sundae, we introduce another type of souvenir for our customers. It's the seamlessly looped videos to be used as a live wallpaper. They're almost like those unique visualizers except that these videos are short and...well...they don't interact with the sound. All videos are 1080p MP4 @ 60fps. For people who use Wallpaper Engine, the wallpaper is also available in the Steam Workshop.

Heart of the mountain live wallpaper: Wallpaper Engine / MP4

Upcoming sundae

ㅤㅤOur founder is attending the commencement in early November so we expect a new sundae to be released around that time. We must make something to celebrate!

For the sake of NGADM'17, I spent a night with no sleep and coffee. I did that to see the extended deadline the next morning.

NGADM'17 current round thread
The playlist of submitted tracks in this round

I've been placed against @AceMantra despite differences in our usual genres. Anyway, both my track and his in this round was rushed, at least when the original deadline kicked in. I'm fine whether I win or lose. Winning means Noisysundae will have more new tracks in the list, while losing means I'll have some rest before doing whatever I wanna do next.

Hmmm...whatever I wanna do next...

  • Getting a job : Waiting for the answers. Sent some letters for the software developer positions. I prefer the game development but the industry doesn't go so well in Thailand atm. Planning to make my portfolio with Unity.
  • Decay Project : Intend to start over due to bad data structures and some spaghetti codes.
  • Noisysundae Visualizer 3.0 + renovation : Been having it in mind since I released Bittersweet. I guess I'm gonna do it later this year.
  • Game designs : I have secretly written some game design documents from time to time.
Speaking of which, I don't like leaving those ideas as a thought in my head (the game concepts are just too big for a human brain to memorize, you know), I must make all my ideas structured. Have you ever tried to create your own paper game in class? I have, and those cost me a few fully written notebooks. Hell, I just realized I got addicted to this thing since the elementary school! I also made some random tracks with my dad's 3310 back then. XD

Oops, I made a wall of text. :P

...but I made it at last!

Latest sundae ▲

It has a unique visualizer and a wallpaper, but I can't upload them as submissions here due to the Minecraft game footage. Even though it's my own creation there, I'm not sure if a footage from a game is prohibited. Better safe than sorry.

4914553_149714958292_Noisysundae-Oceanside.png

And if I'm lucky enough to get through the NGADM'17 Auditions, expect more sundaes from me. ;)

A short message: I (eventually) finish a new sundae! Here's the proof.

I'm not releasing this yet because I'm currently working on the unique visualizer. The graduation project pushed me too far from my comfort zone back then, and I spent my leisure time to rest instead. I'm a bit less busy now.

A few hours left! Hurry up before the e-mail I got from NG become meaningless!

4914553_148556545343_Capture.png

Apart from my birthday, I got a new laptop now. My old one's GPU was broken and was replaced. I passed it to my sister. The main cause of buying a new laptop is I was going to the Thailand Game Jam site. It was my first time. Had only 2 hours of sleep each day. Here's the game page. I did the coding on player controller, camera, and definitely, the audio. My team made the wrong decision trying to make a LAN multiplayer game. :P

Happy new year everyone! Hope you guys have a better year than that scumbag 2016! :D

Unfortunately, I might not deliver a new sundae in time because of my recent trip and I just arrived at home last night. Anyway, here's my greeting card! This was on December 30th at Phu Chi Fa (ภูชี้ฟ้า), Chiang Rai Province, Thailand.

4914553_148324734713_P_20161230_111205_HDRn.png

The next release is coming with an update on the visualizer too. Some new animations on the end screen. ;)
